Our Discovery Phase focuses on a positive introduction to football, providing fundamental moves in a fun learning environment. This will help develop key social and cognitive skills needed to link the fundamentals and how to apply them to football in the next stage of their development.

Foundation Phase
Our Foundation Phase develops how to link fundamental moves to the technical side of the game. Players will develop the Pro Football Academy technical fundamentals: ball control, passing and receiving and goal scoring in an environment where they are encouraged to take risks, express themselves and solve problems.

Football coaching phases include:
Ball Mastery
Ball Mastery enables our players to develop a healthy, confident relationship with the ball. Players will focus on using different parts of their feet and executing different turns, forward moves and side moves.
Twisting & Turning
The objective of Twisting and Turning is to develop the art of escape and evade. Our sessions will focus on the mechanics of turning and introduce it into realistic game situations for players to execute in their games.
Passing & Receiving
Passing & Receiving is a key technical component of the modern game. We will introduce various methods to pass to teammates and receive on different angles and parts of the foot in an array of game realistic situations. Our players will be coached to break lines, switch play, and combine using different passing and receiving techniques.
Dribbling & Running With The Ball
Dribbling & Running with the ball aim to develop the art of ‘Survive on the ball’. Our sessions will highlight the difference between both methods and when to identify what may be the best approach.
Creating & Finishing
Creating & Finishing requires players to take risks, express themselves, and to be brave in these situations. We will introduce and encourage our players to adopt this mindset and how we can score using different methods such as 1st time finishes, aerial finishes, and placed/finessed finishes.
Small Sided Games
Small sided games have enormous advantages for the development of young footballers. Increased ball handling time, quick decision-making scenarios, and overall increased repetitions of technical actions. Small sided games provide the perfect setting to improve creativity and confidence on the ball.
Pre-Season
Our Pre-Season programme aims to maintain and improve the physical requirements of the game. Agility, speed, strength, and stamina are the fitness components we seek to enhance while continuing to incorporate the ball where possible.
